Dear physiotherapy friends, limjie. is currently having cramps at her left calf muscle every night. It happens when she is asleep. The pain scale for the cramps will be 7/10. But as she is having it too frequently, she knows how to deal with the pain. She can feel when the cramp is coming, and will try to dorsiflex her left foot while lying supine. Dorsiflexing the foot eases the cramp. An arch (3/10) can be felt when she stands on her toes, and when she dorsiflexes her left foot with knee extended. The arch is over the medial head of her gastrocnemius. limjie. currently has very tight hamstings muscle, due to the prolonged hill climbing activity she has to overcome everyday. The cramp only happens at the left calf muscle. Can you guys come out with a diagnosis and a solution for poor limjie. who wants a good night sleep? Thank you my physio friends. xoxo, limjie. Up, up, and away! |
