limjie. is very grateful for the geek-looking guy sitting 2 tables in front of her,
for looking after her belonging while she sprint one floor up to lvl 10 to use the toilet.

but she is very pissed that jay chou is coming to sydney for world tour.
and not mayday.

;(

if someone gladly sponsor me air tickets back to sg in aug,
i will treat the person the most expensive mayday concert tix.

:D

- 12:17 PM

its 3.20pm in the noon.
the weather is gloomy, rainy, cold and wet.
here i am, trying to resist eating snacks after pasta at 12pm.
and there is my landlady,
cooking bacon!!

argh.
its smelling damn good!

p.s. my room is just next to the kitchen

- 7:28 AM

limjie's life is evolved around assignment, tutorials, tests, and her printer.
gosh..
i just had my calculus test. which wasn't hard. but i still din manage to finish one question.
damn it.
it seems like the rest of the class knows how to do everything.

tutorials are never ending.
i haven done my chem tut for the 1 o'clock class.
damn it.

and the thought of running from the law fac to the matthews block,
i just feel like dying.
my psych tutor particularly mentioned that we are not to be late for this week's class.

and my printer.
there are like tons of notes for me to print.
argh.
and its lagging.

worse still,
the weather is really gloomy.
makes me wanna just stay at home to sleep..
sian!

Sunday, March 29, 2009 - 6:40 PM

CONGRATULATIONS TO JOYCE FOR GETTING THE SCHOLARSHIP.

opps im i supposed to announce this?
haha.

Anyway Earth hour is cool.
but i did not go and witness the switching off of the lights of the opera house and harbour bridge.
instead, i stayed in the darkess of my room for 2 hours. from 8.30pm to 10.30pm,
while talking to my housemates.
yeah for earth hour.
i will go down to the cbd next year to witness it.
yes i will.

actually i took a nice picture of the view from the 10th level of the library.
but the internet connection is failing me.
hence i shall upload it another day.

:)

Thursday, March 26, 2009 - 8:27 PM

I HATE MAPLE.
fyi, its not maplestory.
its a maths software.
i do not understand why must there be a computing component to MATHS.
its not like im going to be an engineer or something.

for instance,

Find slope of tangent line to unit circle, x2+y2=1 at point (1/2, sqrt3/2).

Soln:
>implicitdiff(x^2+y^2=1,y,x);
>subs(x=1/2,y=sqrt(3)/2,%);

or

Let f(x)=sin^-1(x)
Find the 6th derivative of sin^-1(x) and evaluate at 1/2.

Soln:
>f:=x->arcsin(x);
>D[1$6](f)(1/2);

so basically this is how MAPLE works.
you gotta type out commands so that it can calculate and show the whatevr eqn u want it to solve.

So let see whether u guys can figure out the following command:
>f:x->x*dislike*MAPLE;
>x:=limjie;
>f;

ANS:
x dislike MAPLE
x=limjie
limjie dislike MAPLE

Tuesday, March 24, 2009 - 6:43 PM

omgosh. How can I be hungry when I just ate rice 3 hours ago?
and its rice!
i can't believe that im hungry.
i must have imagine it.

and my face is damn super itchy!
it felt so though someone swipe H2SO4 over my face.
*im somehow allergic to H2SO4*

back to chem tut.
:(

- 2:18 PM

I will be counting down from 20.
By the count of 1, you will fall into a deep sleep.

I was sitting at the last row for Maths tutorial today
and got the chance to observe how other students behave during tutorial.
Of course there will be those that will do their tutorial punctually (like me),
some smart ones that can solve problems on the spot,
some that are attentive enough to spot the prof's mistake,
some clueless/ curious enough to raise their hands to ask question.
some daydreaming in their own world,
and one that uses the computer to use facebook.
Its so interesting to see what others are doing.

FYI, i was pretty annoyed by the geek who was using facebook during tut.
firstly, he din have his manual (which is okay, cos its not compulsary)
he din even take out paper and pen.
who on earth goes to maths with his computer on facebook page.
i pretty sure that he is stalking pictures of girls on fb.
pls lah. he is a geek leh.
we should at least respect the prof rite, though he can be long-winded and slow.

Now I will counting down from 20 again.
When I reached 5, you may open your eyes.
When I reached 1, you are fully awake.

Hypnosis is fun. It wastes most of the tutorial time.
I wasn't hypnotise I think.
Cos i know what im doing all along.
But why is it I feel a force against my arms when the man just cued someone is pushing ur arms?
wierd!

Sunday, March 22, 2009 - 4:26 PM

My $47 HP F2280 Deskjet
argh. my kodak Z8612 IS

- 4:06 PM

LIMJIE'S MARINATED MEAT IS THE BEST.

no joke guys. but my marinated meat taste delicious.
i just finished cooking my dinner.
and its cabbage chicken porridge.

UPDATE ON SAT!

Its chia huay's 19th birthday. omg. see how young she is and how old i am.
anyway, me, cherry decided to celebrate it for her by shopping the whole day and having a sumptuous dinner at the end.
Hence, we went to Paddington's Market along Oxford street.
Then, Bondi Junction.
Dinner was at SINMA LAKSA HOUSE, where it sells all the singapore-malaysia food.
So we had laksa, chicken rice, butter prawns and sambal kangkong.
We wanted chilli crab/ pepper crab as well.
But its too expensive $52/kg.
In order not to dampen the mood, I treated the girls butter prawns.
We were full and happy,
we bought another packet of grapes home for our night bonding session.

we laughed and sang our way back.
the night continued with camwhoring, which u can check out in facebook.

tt's all for yesterday.

UPDATE FOR TODAY:

Went all the way to Moore Park's Harvey Norman to get my printer.
My HP DESKJET IS DAMN CHEAP.
ONLY AT $47.
but the thing is that I got to carry it all the way back to my place.
and i walk there.

I am in love with the Kodak Z8612 IS.
Its really nice and classic looking.
And the best deal is that its selling at $168 now.
I have been to harvey for 2 consequtive sundays.
and every week i will stand in front of the counter,
staring and touching the camera.
Should i get one ar!?
But the thought of the grocery shopping and rental fee is like putting it off.
argh. its not like i can't afford it, but i shan't anyhow spend money too.
ARGH~! HOW?

Friday, March 20, 2009 - 5:40 PM

HELLO GUYS.
ITS FRIDAY!

Firstly, I would like to congratulate those that have finally finished their clinical 2C!
Secondly, i hope those that are falling sick in sg to get well soon. ESPECIALLY JO!

The week really went past fast.
It just felt like today is still wednesday.
If the time goes pass this fast, I will be back home soon. haha.

yeah. I am a happy girl when I go grocery shopping.
And grocery shopping days are tuesdays and fridays.
Usually I will walk all the way to Coles supermarket or "Food for Less" in Randwick.
And guess what i bought today?
Its "grapes for the price of $2.95 per kg."
wee. the grapes are like really good.

Another note, I have been crowned the "vegetarian" girl.
cos apparently i dun eat much meat,
when my housemate can eat only bacon and chicken wings for weeks. (it been 4 weeks, still counting on)

I shall take pictures of the Randwick Junction next time. So u guys will know exactly where I grocery shop.

delicious looking huge packet of grapes

look at the size of one grape

another picture

my house mate's dinner. delicious looking rite!

happy me with my humongous packet of grapes.

Another note: I am happy to announce that I am "EXTRA PETITE" size in ozland.
cos apparently i bought a "PETITE" size labcoat. and its too big for me.
FYI, the sizes came in: EXTRA PETITE, PETITE, SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE, EXTRA LARGE.

HAHAH. IM EXTRA PETITE!

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 - 4:13 PM

OMIGOSH. I had my periods today.
And as usual, i had cramps for the first day.
Yea. maybe I should make this the "limjie's official first menses in aussie" day.
Anyway I was feeling the cramp this morning,
that I could not help it but came back home to take a panadol during the one hour break.
After that was supposedly the chem lect at 2pm. followed by the maths lect from 4-6pm.

When I came back, I was so tempted to skip the chem lect.
I was between the thoughts of skipping and not skipping. But in the end i went.
Im glad that i have a "Pavarotti look-alike" lecturer, which makes the whole thing interesting.
I have no idea why, but most of the chem lecturers have beards! the "Pavarotti-kind"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I guess most of u should be wondering what modules im taking.
FYI, im taking BSc (bachelor of science and not BASIC), which amanda thought it was.
Modules taking currently are:
BABS1021 MOLECULES,CELLS & GENES
MATH1031 MATHEMATICS 1A
CHEM1011 CHEMISTRY 1A
PSYC1011 PSYCHOLOGY 1A

Basically Im only having troubles with maths currently.
Cos I have lost touch with maths for like years.
I was telling angie that some lecturers dun provide notes,
hence we gotta take notes ourselves during lect.

As an example, I took a picture of my Maths notes.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 - 7:03 PM

I almost died rushing for my psychology tut this afternoon.
The chemistry tutorial was in the Law faculty (dun ask me why)
and my psyc tutorial is in Matthews building.
I have ten minutes to travel from the lower campus to the upper campus.

Its seriously no joke.
U must be thinking what's the big deal.
the deal is that lower campus is on the ground level and upper campus is on a hill hill (like bukit timah hill).

Sunday, March 15, 2009 - 4:11 PM

omigosh!
I am watching this documentary on channel 7 right now.
Its about these 2 towns, whereby each is dominated by one gender.

Apparently, the guy town is made up of most farmers.
But there are cute, hot ones.
And you see only females in the other town.
The host organised a party and brought them altogether.

The ladies dress really nicely, so did the guy.
They danced, kissed, and became friends.
So amazing rite!

Yeah. today is spent on alot of walking and singing.
Walk all the way from home to Todman's avenue,
then Todman's Ave to Anzac Parade to take a bus to the city.
Din realised that the roads are closed cos of St Patrick's Parade in city.
Got off at some busstop and walk all the way to Town Hall Station to meet the gals for karaoke.

I hope the walking is keeping me from growing fat!

Saturday, March 14, 2009 - 9:51 PM

Why are people so afraid of cockroaches?

I think LIZARDS are so much scarier!

I already have 2 different roommates knocking on my door to "ask for help".

One actually jumped on her bed when the cockroach invaded the space under the bed.

Im glad I have never seen a lizard so far.

And I hope i won't see one too.

Sharing a house is really fun.

Cos we get to study together and gossip together.

The kitchen and jh's room have somehow become the common gossip area.

kitchen cos we cook there.

and jh's room cos it's the biggest and has this big area to have a "meeting"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Skyped with the watten family 3 hours ago.

I think its became a routine on saturday evening (sg time) to meet them.

there will be xinyue (my cousin's daughter) to greet me,

my aunts trying to converse with me,

my mum asking me what have i been eating.

my cousin and sibling asking me to help them check out sales stuff.

and my dad asking me to sleep early.

i missed the saturday gathering, the fruit platter, steam chicken, gossip session and the after dinner walk.

yea. but im not on the verge of wanting to fly back immediately.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

yeah. tmr i will be meeting minsin and geri again.

this time round, we will be going kboxing.

and gotta accompany jh to harvey norman at todman's avenue tmr morning.

hence. GOOD NIGHT GUYS.

gotta sleep. its 1am.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THIRD AUNT!

happy birthday to u~

happy birthday to u~

happy birthday to san gu ma~

happy birthday to u~!!

Friday, March 13, 2009 - 8:00 AM

Friday the 13th.

I din realised that its was friday the thirteen until i saw ven's birthday notification.
As usual, friday the 13th means just like a normal day to me!

But lo and behold,
i missed my first bioscience lab session, becos the whole building was eveacuated..
I was kind of panicking, cos my attendence wouldn't be marked!
So I started asking around, whether people know how to get into the building and to lab G20.
Not to my surprise, some kind yr2s pointed out that i could try the other way into the building.
I spend the next 1/2 hr trying to walk around the bioscience compound trying to look for some places to get in.
Unfortunately, there are none.
Worst thing still, my bioscience lect previously shouted that yr1 are still having their labs.
Few minutes later, 20-30 year1 look-alike came out from the front door.
I asked 2 of them, and damn it, they got their attendence marked.

So i told the coordinator that i could not find my lab due to the evacuation.
she replied she knows its abit hard.
she can try to fit me into her lab, only to find out she is not my lab's coordinator.

All i can do is go back to the lab again next week,
look for the correct class.
and the correct coordinator.

so much for the trouble!
the class was released 30 min later though its a 3 hr lab.
and i was perspiring like mad, just trying to look for my class!

:(

anyway on a happier mood,
it means that i won't have lessons till 3pm today.
hurrah.
and i will be meeting my mentor and fellow peer mentees at 2pm.

Tuesday, March 10, 2009 - 11:32 AM

School finally started.
And I can't believe that there are tons of tutorials to be done.
I spent my whole night and evening yesterday trying my best to do my tutorial.
But the questions seem too much. and never ending.
I gave up at 1am, thinking that the tutor may just pardon me.

This morning my tutorial starts at 9am!
I woke up early, attempting to finish some of the undone but might be gone through question,
while trying to chomp up my cereal.
My landlady must be surprised that I am starting to do work on the 2nd day of school.

Went to sch, anticipating to see how the tutorial class will be like and whether im the only one who din complete the tutorial.
In the end, I was the only one who did it.
What a waste of time! ARGH.
So feel like killing myself for being so kaisu!

Sigh. but the tutorial was really good.
My tutor is the "assoc. prof of applied maths from uni of denmark".
How cool is that.
He just look like any nice old ah pek.

But still, i still have to complete my next tut, which i hope its the same tutor!

P.s. finally cooked the plain porridge with onion egg and the canned mince meat. Heavenly and satisfied.

Back to work!

:D

Saturday, March 07, 2009 - 7:06 AM

Its autumn, and the current temperature is 22.6 degrees.
Its considered pretty cold for south-east asian people who only experienced sun and monsoon rainy season.
I have never taken note of the weather forecast ever since i stepped into Aust.
But the chilly wind makes me curious about how exactly cold it is.
For now, a hot cup of Milo is more than enough for me.
But when its winter, what should I get?

Its now 26 degrees in singapore too. surprisingly, i heard from friends that it has been raining non-stop since i dunn0-when.

isn't it cool to have such weather?

Wednesday, March 04, 2009 - 8:02 PM

I am sitting in my bed, feeling hungry.
yes. 6hrs after i managed to finish my cabbage soup.
there is still 1/4 of a cabbage waiting for me in the fridge, waiting to be consumed before it rots.

finally had the chance to webcam with the watten people.
can u imagine my grandfather using the webcam.
he is so adorable!
yeah i miss them!

im supposed to read through my course pack.
but ended up watching jap drama.
omg! can someone stop me?
i dun even know what time to i have to get up tmr to go to sch!
argh.
and with my stomach empty somemore.
i must stop eating junk!

on another note.
went shopping with jiahui (my roommate) at Bondi Junction today!
there is a huge Westfield over there,

bigger and classier than the one at Eastgardens.
and guess what,
i bought a pair of pumps for $2!
can u believe it? $2!!!
how lucky i am.

still, i have to finish up my cabbage and chicken soon.
its time to get other meat and vegetables.
and stop watching videos for goodness sake!

:( so unmotivated!
